Apple launched two new MacBooks Tuesday, the 15-inch MacBook Pro and the 13-inch MacBook Air. Both devices are thinner, faster and have better battery life, but neither one is available in stores right now.
Both laptops are aimed at college students and those whose jobs require a lot of travel. And if you’re a professional, you’ve likely seen pictures of these thin and light laptops before.
Apple CEO Tim Cook unveiled the new MacBooks during a keynote address at Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference in San Jose, Calif., on Monday. A recent Bloomberg report said the new machines would cost between $1,299 and $1,799.
You can see the new MacBooks in action in the video below.

When it comes to the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, what you see is what you get. Apple claims that the 15-inch MacBook Pro is 15 percent thinner and lighter than the version released a year ago. It also packs a Retina display with 4K resolution and a 12-core Intel Core i7 processor, which Apple says is 25 percent faster than the previous models. In addition, the new MacBook Pro includes a feature called True Tone Display, which Apple said automatically adjusts the colors in an image and the ambient lighting to create a more natural and pleasing image.
Apple is also touting faster Wi-Fi 802.11ac, a True Tone flash display and a whole lot of storage. The laptop includes options for up to 512GB of flash storage and 1TB of storage, according to Apple. The updated MacBook Pro also comes with dual card readers and 2.5G and USB-C ports.
The new 13-inch MacBook Air comes in eight colors, and it’s 18 percent thinner than the previous model. The ultra-light laptop features Apple’s new Touch ID fingerprint scanner, Retina display and 8GB of memory. It also has built-in 802.11ac Wi-Fi and a 10th-generation Intel i5 processor. The new version can last up to 13 hours on a single charge, compared to 8 hours for the previous model.
The new MacBook Air also comes with options for up to 256GB of flash storage and a built-in barcode reader. To use the barcode reader, you’ll have to plug the MacBook Air into your computer via USB.

What’s New in the Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Download Karne Ka Tarika?
Just last week, President Obama made the case for why America needs to go carbon neutral by the middle of this century. This was in response to new regulations put forward by the EPA. In this article, I’d like to take a stab at explaining the science of the carbon cycle. The idea that technology can solve the problem of carbon is based on a false premise, and it is a fundamental misunderstanding of how nature works.
The Goal: Zero Carbon By 2050
A group of US scientists, environmentalists, educators, and business leaders have developed a report detailing “a set of recommendations to achieve atmospheric carbon concentrations of no more than 350 ppm and ocean carbon concentrations of no more than 1000 ppm by mid-century”. The central idea in this report was to develop a policy based on a climate tipping point that has occurred over the past few thousand years. This tipping point is the threshold at which the system transitions from a stable to a semi-stable state.
To graphically illustrate the idea of tipping points, below is an image from the report by Glen MacDonald of West Virginia University, showing the carbon concentration in three environments over a period of time. We see that when carbon concentrations in the atmosphere and ocean drop below 1,000 ppm, the system becomes unstable and the system goes into a flip from a healthy, stable state to a semi-stable state (aka permanent warming, aka AGW).
This graph is built on the assumption that carbon concentrations in the atmosphere and ocean have been in this semi-stable state for thousands of years.
The Problem With This Conventional Scientific Wisdom
Climate scientists and their supporters work under a bit of a handicap when trying to communicate the science of AGW. The problem is that we are taught in science classes that the natural processes in the carbon cycle are driven by “irreversible”, while the effects of atmospheric CO2 concentration on the Earth’s climate are “reversible”.
Let’s take the example of animal respiration. Our bodies produce carbon dioxide, and another byproduct of oxygen is nitrogen oxide (NOx). NOx has a chemical formula of:
where the arrow at the left points to nitrogen, and the arrow at the right points to oxygen. The nitrogen atoms in NOx can be thought of as fully oxidized, while the oxygen atoms in NOx are partially oxidized.
In contrast, isothermal climate models work
